September Letter from AF: Don’t Spread Yourself Too Thin

I came up with this month’s motto after perusing Eva Chen’s Instagram feed last month and noticing how she has evolved from her Conde Nast days to this very day. Eva is a such a huge inspiration to me, I love how she has grown and succeeded in this industry and never lost sight of who she is as a person. One thing I’ve observed and admired is that Eva never spread herself too thin; she knows how to remain current. What do I mean by this? It is important to be multi-faceted.

You may be good in one area, but you should also learn how to do something different; you never know when an opportunity comes your way that’ll require a skill you wish you knew how to do. Another inspiring example is the incredible celeb hairstylist turned entrepeneur, Ursula Stephen. I had the opportunity to learn more about Stephen and her upcoming career moves.

This month I am challenging myself to try something new, and you should too. Go the extra mile and do the unexpected. Be open-minded, always and in all ways. September 2016 marks the last full month of being 27 and I am so ready to end this year with a bang. I want to remember this age, as the age I pushed myself to become better.

September’s motto:

You should always be learning. If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong place. – Erika Bearman @ErikaBearman
