Tulum Travel Guide: Where to Eat, Shop, and Visit

The only trip you’ll regret, is the one you don’t take.- Unknown

So happy I visited Tulum! Ever since I got back from my trip I’ve had so many friends text me for recommendations and I sent them a list of tips, tricks and more. Here are a few things you can do in Tulum if you plan to go soon.

Where to Eat: To save time and money, book a hotel that provides breakfast. Have lunch on the beach at Papaya Playa (have the fish tacos and a mango margarita!) then go for a swim. Dinner at Gitano, if you go on a Friday night, prepare to get your dance on.

Where to Shop: Along Carr. Tulum-Boca Paila there are plenty places to shop for cute clothes, ceramic goods, jewelry and skincare. I brought home this Mayan Clay.

What to Do: Visit the Tulum Ruins, Chichen Itza, Playa Pariaso, one of the cenotes, and if you’re up for it, check out the Pyramid of Positive Thinking where I had my most meaningful moment. For a fun and great excercise, opt for riding a bike to get around, this is another great way to save money! More mula for tequila!

What to Wear: My friend, Khalia gave me the best advice: Leave your heels at home! I’m so glad I did; not only did it give me more room in my luggage, I was able to get around pain-free and relaxed. If you want to dress up at night, pack a pair of cute slides or sandals.

As I mentioned in my previous post about Tulum, this was one of the most amazing trips I’ve been on. Here’s a little recap, I wish I could put everything into this video, but you know, these days, we don’t have an attention span past two minutes! Enjoy.
